Registration
Every member gets a 7 day Trial Membership called Free Access. You won't be able to access all the great features at Date in Real Life until you subscribe but you will have enough privileges to get to know your way around. You can subscribe before your Free Access Membership runs out at any time. If you choose not to become a member at the end of the 7 Days, just let your Free Access Membership revert to our Inactive Membership. Your profile will stay inactive indefinately. When you decide to become a member, all of your information will still be there. We do not require you to fill in all the information in your profile, only the information highlighted by a red atrisk. If you are private person and would prefer to do your searches privately, we respect that. Just keep in mind that the more information you enter the better your search matches will be.
Languages/Upper Right Hand Corner
Choose from 9 international languages for your profile. Just click on the language of your choice and you profile will be translated to that language. You will find the selections in the upper right hand corner of the website page.
Account Settings
This is where you will manage your account settings in regards the the billing information for your membership.
Change Password / Edit Profile Page
If, for any reason, you need to change your password, just click on the highlighted "change password" located on your profile edit page. Date in Real LIfe uses password encrypton so that your passwords will be stored in our datebases as encrypted symbols making it impossible for a hacker to use this data for any malicious purposes.
If you forget your password when you are loggin in , simply click on forgot password in the login area. There you will be able to enter the current email address you used with your registeration and instructions to set a new password will be sent to your email. Be sure to protect your password at all times.
Preferences / Member Home Page
Located on the Member Home Page just under the navagational bar. Customize your profile options: who sees your comments, set your private status,matches with photos only, etc. Be sure to fill this out after you have filled in your profile information. You can change the options as often as you choose.
Sign In/Sign Out/Log Off / Right of page for Quick Access
Be sure to sign off when you are finished at Date in Real Life..ESPECIALLY if you are using a public computer! There is a security measure in place that after a period of time you are not active on your member page you will automatically be signed out.
Unregister Profile / My Profile / Edit Profile Page
If you no longer wish to be a member of Date in Real Life, this is where you will unregister your profile. Located at the bottom of the My Profile/Edit Profile page, just click on the highlighted "Profile Unregister" and follow the prompts. Be sure to tell us why you are leaving.
We hate to see you go and will miss you. The charges are non-refundable at Date in Real Life if you choose to turn off you profile in the middle of the billing period. You must notify us prior to the next billing period to ensure that you will not be charged for the next month.
My Profile
My Profile is your personal profile information. Go to Edit Profile at right of My Profile to make changes to your profile.Keep in mind that the searches for matches at Date in Real Life are determined by the information in your profile. We respect your desire to be cautious with your personal information. If you choose to, you can do your own searches filling in the information at will. It is imperative that the information you enter in your profile is truthful and correct. We would like to remind you that every member is able to "report" another member if they are found not to be truthful and that we have a forum area to discuss how things are going with all the members.
Edit Profile / My Profile Page / Right of page for Quick Access The area highlighted with red astriks are necessary for your profile. The rest of the areas are optional. Please remember that the less information you fill in the broader the searches will be in the membership base.
My Photo / My Profile Page / Right of page for Quick Access
You have to upload a photo of yourself in order for your profile to publish. You will not be able to upload an avatar. Please upload a CURRENT photo. If you do not have a current photo, Date in Real Life will be providing professional photographers at 2 of our "Meet and Greets" a month to take a great photo for you at no cost to you. Check the Event Calendar for the dates each month. All photos will be reviewed and if rejected will cause your profile to be unavailable to other members. Please keep in mind that you expect members you are considering to be current in their photo and they should expect the same. Your photo must meet the size criteria in order to upload. If the photo is too large, you will have to resize the photo for it to upload.
Add/Edit Music / My Profile Page / Right of page for Quick Access
Be sure to pay attention to the file size for your music, no more that 2 MB. You can upload a file or use an embeded code. All content posted will be reviewed and removed if found to be unacceptable. We will follow all Federal DMCA Laws pertaining to abuse of copywrited music and will turn over all information to the authorities if there is an any abuse of those laws.
Add/Edit Videos / My Profile Page / Right of page for Quick Access
You cannot upload any files larger than 2 MB. All files posted will be reviewed and removed if found to be unacceptable. You will receive a warning for the first post found to be unacceptable and membership deleted for a second offense with NO refund.. We will follow all Federal DMCA Laws pertaining to abuse of copywrited video's and content and will turn over all information to the authorities if there is an any abuse of those laws.
My Credits / Member Home Page
Credits are given for participating on @ www.dateinreallife.com / www.dateirl.com. You can see what you have received credits for at My Credits. Credits will be used as entries for the "6 Tickets Please" Prize given for each city launch every month. Credits will be cleared at the beginning of each month for all members.
My Referrals / Member Home Page
Your referrals for new members will be listed here. Remember that there will a prize given each month for the member with most referrals for that month of the year. Your referrals must subscribe and become a member for one full 30 day period to count toward that months prize. You can check how many referrals for the month or for the year.
Bookmark Members / Member Home Page
These are members profiles that you want to be able to find in a hurray. You might want to bookmark someone you are interested in contacting for a "Meet and Greets" or someone that would be willing to be a "wing" man/woman for a "Night on the Round". You may "unbookmark" a member if you change your mind at any time.
Block Members / Member Home Page
If for any reason you prefer not to have a member contact you this is where you will go to block those members and see a list of who you blocked.
My Neighbors / Member Home Page You can search for members within your zipcode, your state and your country.
My Friends / Member Home Page
This is where you will list all your friends. You can send requests for other members to be your friends by clicking on the "send friend request" to the right of the members picture on My Matches. To see the members that are requesting you be their friends simply click on My Friends on the Member Home Page. Keep in mind that Date in Real Life is more than a online dating site but also a true social networking site where you can meet life long friends.
Invite Friends / Member Home Page
There are two ways to invite friends. You can invite your friends from Facebook by clicking on the Facebook Icon and following the prompts. Or you can import email contacts by entering the emails of your friends in the boxes on the Member Home, one per line . Simply follow the instructions to invite friends to become members and remember every month we give prizes to members with the most invites/ referrals that joined Date in Real Life.

You can invite all your friends at facebook to become members of Date in Real Life. We will be giving great prizes for the members that have the most referrals (friends join) every month. Be sure to "like" Date in Real Life at Facebook to find out about what is coming next.

You can request that any member become your friend. Simply click on "My Friends" on Member Home Page and then click on the "send friend request" to the right of the members information. You can also cancel the friend request if you prefer. Date in Real Life is a true social networking site where you can grow your friend base in all parts of your life. Work, play and love.
Birthdays / Member Home Page
As a member of Date in Real Life we feel your birthday is a very big day. All the member's birthdays for today as well as tomorrow will be listed here. Take time to send them a Happy Birthday Wish if you like.

Every member gets their own blog at Date in Real Life. Write about your passions, your frustrations or your garden. Remember that the blogs are public for everyone to read.
My Mailbox (email) / Member Home Page / next to Sign Out for Quick Access
We have our own email within Date in Real Life. It works just like a regular email. You have an inbox, sent mail as well as write message. Remember that the email must be addressed to the members username here..it will not work for outside email.
Forum
The forums at Date in Real Life give everyone a chance to comment on all the different groups, "Meet and Greets" , "Nights on the Round", as well as community and national topics. Please remember that everyone reads the forums and to be polite while expressing opinions. If you need to report another member for something offensive please do not use the public forum to do this but go to the members profile and click on "Report" on the right hand side of the top of the profile. A window will open up and you can enter your report there.
Groups
Only administratin can start a new Group at Date in Real Life. The reason is that we need to have groups that appeal to enough members to keep it interesting. If you would like for us to create a new group, please send a request to admin@dateirl.com and we will take it under advisement. Be sure to remember that the comments you post for the groups are for everyone to read. You can join as many groups as you choose.
Mutual Match
These are the matches generated by Date in Real Life based on the information you entered in your profile with other members on Date in Real Life that are sent to the email that you used to sign up with Date in Real Life.
My Matches / Member Home
All your matches will be found here. Clicking on the picture will take you to the members full profile. There are numerous options on the page. Bookmark, Send Friend Request, Block, Send Message, and you can also Send this Profile to a Friend that is a Date in Real Life Member. There is also a great place for you to make notes about this member and send the member a comment about their profile.
Username Search / Search Page
The Username Search is based on entering a Date in Real Life Member's username. Just enter the name next to username:____________ and click on search.
Keyword Search / Search Page
The Keyword Search is based on a particular word. If you were looking for a member that liked something particular, ex:tennis. You enter the word tennis next to keyword:_____________ and click on search. When the searches come up, if you found the member you were searching for yu have the option to save this search. If you did not find the member you can click on Refind Search and it will take you back to Keyword Search, Username Search or Advanced Search to search again.
Advanced Search / Search Page
Advanced Search is the most detailed search. You can enter any or some of the information to search for a member. Keep in mind the more information you enter the smaller the member base to match to.
Quick Search / Member Home Page
Quick Search is just that. A search for a member with only 6 critera. When the result of your search comes up, you can select members that you would like to do a more advanced search of.
Speed Dating / Member Home Page
Date in Real Life will be scheduling Speed Dating Events once a month at www.dateinreallife.com To be able to participate, go the the Speed Date Event and be sure to click on "I am attending". You will be added to the Event. There will be a limited amount of participants for each Speed Datin Event. At the event, you will have a designated time with each opposite sex member. More information to be added.
New Members / Member Home Page
All of the newest members to Date in Real Life will be found at New Members. Take time to send friend requests and bookmark the members you would like to know more about. You will find the friends that you referred on this list. Be sure to add them to your Friends List.
Featured Members / Home Page
Each week Date in Real Life will "Feature" members to highlight their profile. These Featured Members will be randomly chosen. If you would like to be a Featured Member just send us an email at admin@dateirl.com and we will be sure to include you.

Each member at Date in Real Life will have a blog to call their own. You can write about anything you like as long as it is not offensive to the rest of the members. These blogs are viewed by the members at Date in Real Life so be sure that the content is for everyone to read. Some suggestions for your blog might be current events, a new job, latest music, current trends, etc. You can manage your blog at My Blog. Please be respectful of the member comments on your blog.
Online Chat
There are two different types of online chatting at Date in Real Life . In the Lobby you will find different rooms. When you are online your username will appear in one of the rooms. You may only chat in one room at a time. If you wish to change rooms simply click on the arrows to the right of the label for the room and you will be taken to that room. Please remember that this is a public chat with all the members of Date in Real Life.
And there is the private chat. If you are chatting with another member on the public lobby chat page and would like to go to a private chat simply click on that members username and a small chat window will open up. We remind you that if you are meeting someone online for the first time, please do not share your personal information with them until you have know them for some time. If another member offers their personal information, this does not mean you have to give them yours. Date Safe.
Banned Profiles
It is of the upmost importance that everyone follows all of the guidelines here for Date in Real Life to be successful for you. There will be only one warning for any offensive behavior and then the members/profiles will be banned. We are all grownups and will be expected to act accordingly.
Moderators
Date in Real Life will be assigning moderators to all of our Groups to oversee the comments. We are very interested in your opinion but want to be sure that everyone is considering all the members when making posts. Please be respectful of the moderators .

Subscribe
There is only one paid membership at Date in Real Life. It is a 30-day recurring membership @ $14.99 per billing period. You can only purchase one month at a time and the charges are non-refundable. You must notify us prior to billing that you do not wish to continue as a member in order for us to close your account and not bill you for the next month.
Memberships / Subscribe Page
There are 4 different memberships at Date in Real Life.
1. Free Access / 7 Day. 7 Days of limited access at Date in Real Life. You will have enough privileges to get to know us and more than any other online dating site. You can go to Subscribe and see the list of what you will be able to access with this Membership. After 7 Days you will either have to join as a member or your membership will become Incative until you decide to Subscribe.
2. Full Access. This membership gives you access to every function at Date in Real Life. You can go to the Subscribe Page for a complete list . This membership is a 30 Day Recurring Membership that is non-refundable.
3. Inactive. If you do not subscribe as a member after your 7 days of Free Acess your profile will go to our Inactive Membership. All of your information will be kept in a safe place until you are ready to come back and become a member.
4. Platinum. This is the administration only membership.
Twitter/Date in Real Life
Click on the Twitter Icon at the top of the page and follow the prompts. You will want to follow Date in Real Life to participate in the daily prizes and to be kept up to speed on what is coming next.
Foursquare/Date in Real Life
Click on the Foursquare Icon at the top of the page and follow the prompts. Date in Real Life will be doing Scavenger Hunts using Foursquare to login while you are participating.
